Summary
Overdue is a local-first personal book tracker. Your library, covers, loan records, and settings are stored on your device. We do not run a cloud account or sync service, and we do not sell your personal information. No ads. No analytics SDKs.
Information We Collect
We do not collect your book data on our servers. You may enter titles, authors, ISBNs, reading notes, borrower details, and cover photos in the app—all saved locally on your device.
ISBN Lookup
When you scan or enter an ISBN, the app sends that number over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to Open Library and Google Books to fetch title, author, and cover details. We do not receive or store that lookup on our servers—Posch Ventures has no backend that keeps your ISBN requests or library data. Those third-party services receive only the ISBN you request, not your full library.
We cannot delete information held by Open Library or Google on your behalf. Their policies govern any data they process: Open Library, Google Privacy Policy.
Deleting Your Data
All library, loan, genre, and settings data stored by Overdue lives on your device. You can permanently delete it at any time:
- Open Overdue
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Danger Zone
- Tap Reset All Data
- Type DELETE to confirm
This removes your books, loans, genres, notes, and settings from the app on that device. We do not retain a copy. Uninstalling the app also removes local app data. Files you exported or backed up elsewhere (email, cloud drive, etc.) remain until you delete them in those locations.

Data Storage and Exports
Book lists, genres, loan records, cover images, and backup files stay on your device. We do not have access to this data. You can export PDF or CSV reports and create local JSON backups when you choose. If you share a backup or export (email, cloud drive, etc.), that transfer uses the service you pick—not our servers. Uninstalling the app removes local app data; files you saved elsewhere remain until you delete them.
Device Permissions
Overdue may request camera access (ISBN scanning and cover photos). On Android, choosing a cover image uses the system photo picker (one image at a time—we do not request broad access to your photo library). The app may also use file access for backups and exports. You can deny permissions in device settings; related features may not work.
Updates
The app may use Expo over-the-air updates to deliver bug fixes. When you download from Google Play, Google may collect information according to Google's policies.
Changes
We may update this policy if the app changes. The "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
